Photoshop Basics with Sam Peterson

Day 1:  Place text in an environment using basic Photoshop tools such as  Layers, Masks, Selections and Blending Modes.

Day 2:  Mix and match animals to create a fantasy creature.  Use Selections, Masks, and Refine Edge to quickly and accurately grab sections of each animal.

Day 3:  Remove an object from its background, then place it into a new environment using Masks, Color Balance and Perspective tools to make it realistic.

Day 4:  Add a painted effect to a portrait using Brushes and Filters.

Day 5:  Add color to an illustrated line drawing.  Use Selection Tools, Brushes and Clipping Masks to achieve greater detail.

Day 6:  Add light and shadow to a scene using Blending Modes.  Then try using Lightroom to edit Contrast, Color or Exposure.

Day 7:  Create a sci-fi themed self-portrait using Neural Filters and Layer Masks.

Day 8:  Design Text with a realistic 3D texture using Bevel and Emboss.

Day 9:  Create magical swirling and glowing effects using Gradient Maps.
